Your day to day:



  • Identify deviations that could createquality/safety/environmental hazards or cause malfunctions.
  • Work as team member with cognizant personnel to identify and implement corrective actions.
  • Perform multi-disciplined inspection and testing activities.
  • Maintain work area in a clean and safe condition at all times.
  • Read, understand, and demonstrate compliance with procedures, codes, specifications, regulations, etc.
  • Read and understand drawings, original manufacturer product documentation, procedures, and other assembly and fabrication documents.
  • Perform basic dimensional inspection utilizing standard inspection equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, depth gauges, pin gauges, thread gauges, etc.
  • Inspect fabrications and assemblies for completeness and cleanliness.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical inspections of components, assemblies and weldments.
  • Interface with manufacturing, engineering, quality and supply chain as necessary to resolve issues related to inspection of product.
  • Identify and document items that do not meet specifications.
  • Prepare and archive necessary documentation related to performance of inspections.
  • Actively pursue and implement opportunities for improvement.
  • Appropriately express all safety concerns in a timely manner.
  • Perform other activities as directed by manager.
  • This role may include periodic support to manufacturing group for assembly, welding, and fabrication work.
  • This role may include periodic support to EHS group for various activities.
  • This role may include periodic support to engineering group for product design and/or analysis.



What you need to be successful in this role:



  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • Proficient in Microsoft software products.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with blueprint reading.
  • Experience with industrial safety programs.
  • Proven ability to learn quickly and follow direction.
  • Demonstrated desire to pursue qualifications, certifications, and accreditation to continually advance in career.
  • Proven proficiency in communicating and delivering commitments.
  • Knowledge and experience with operating CNC machines is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with welding processes is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with electromechanical machine assemblies is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with multiple EHS disciplines such as lifting and rigging, confined space, fall protection, powered industrial trucks, LOTO, electrical safety, stormwater, hazardous materials, etc. is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with metal fabrication and assembly manufacturing process is preferred.
  • Experience with quality programs and/or inspection is preferred.
  • Improvement project work experience is preferred.
  • Enrollment or completion of accredited program certification and/or degree in related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with EHS programs, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 is preferred.
  • Knowledge of electrical/electronic assembly is preferred.
  • Knowledge of national consensus standards of quality such as ISO 9001, ISO 17025, ISO 19443, Six Sigma, ANSI/ASME NQA1, Supplements and Appendices, IEEE Standards, CMAA, AWS, and US NRC Regulatory Guide series is preferred.
  • General knowledge and experience of the major non-destructive testing (NDT) disciplines and their relationship to materials structures is preferred.
  • The ability to write and revise technical documentation requirements stated in the Product, Process, or Testing Specifications, as well as the associated safety requirements is preferred.
  • Industry recognized inspection/quality certifications (ASNT, AWS CWI, ASQ) preferred.
  • Knowledge of dimensional inspection and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing is preferred.
  • Knowledge of engineering, procurement, training, and project management practices is preferred.
