Position Summary The Psychologist will assess individuals with mental and emotional disorders through observation, interviews and, on occasion, psychological screening tools/tests to formulate and deliver related forms of treatment. This individual will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to support patients by assisting them in gaining insight, defining goals and planning action to achieve effective personal, social, educational and vocational development and adjustment. The Psychologist will identify psychological, emotional and behavioral issues using information obtained from the interdisciplinary team, patient interviews, records and other reference materials. The Psychologist will use a variety of treatment methods such as brief counseling, individual and group psychotherapy, behavior modification, CBT, DBT, stress reduction therapy and play therapy. Treatment interventions will address individuals and groups regarding problems such as depression, anxiety, stress, addiction, behavioral problems and family dynamics with the goal of modifying behavior to improve personal, social and vocational adjustment. The Psychologist will be directly involved in and support team efforts related to patient de-escalation, crisis intervention and restraint application as necessary, quality improvement activities, regulatory compliance efforts, psychology intern/extern supervision and other duties assigned by the supervisor. Anticipated Pay Range: The salary range (or hiring range) for this position is $100,000 - $127,000 Base The above salary range represents SBUH's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. The specific salary offer will be based on the candidate's validated years of comparable experience.
