Wieland is hiring an Insurance Specialist/Senior Insurance Specialist. The Insurance Specialist/Senior Insurance Specialist will oversee and guide insurance processes within the North American Organization in coordination with the Global Insurance Team located in Ulm, Germany. They will ensure that the company's insurance policies align with industry standards and regulatory requirements, advising clients and internal teams. In the role, this person will lead insurance claim evaluation and management in North America, maintain strong relationships with clients and insurance providers, and ensure the company's insurance needs are effectively met. This role can be based at Wieland's North American Headquarters located in Louisville, KY or we are open to fully remote work.



Responsibilities

Insurance Specialist/Senior Insurance Specialist Overview:

For all major insurance lines (e.g. property, liability, transportation, D&O), the Wieland Group sponsors and coordinates a single, worldwide insurance program through its own insurance brokerage company Wieland Versicherungsvermittlungs GmbH (WVV) in Ulm, Germany. The management of the Wieland insurance brokerage company, the setup, and negotiation of the worldwide insurance program, and the administration of major insurance claims is the responsibility of the Managing Director of WVV located in Ulm, Germany, who also acts as global head of insurance. Below this worldwide insurance program, the Wieland Group takes out - with the support of local insurance brokerage firms - certain local and/or subsidiary insurance policies on a local/regional basis for its respective subsidiaries worldwide (e.g. car accident insurance, workers' comp insurance in the USA).

Insurance Specialist/Senior Insurance Specialist Responsibilities:

You will play a pivotal role in protecting our organization and clients. You will oversee North American insurance operations, ensuring our policies and procedures align with industry regulations and best practices. You will also support the Global Insurance Team located in Germany by administering certain insurance matters for Wieland Holdings/ Wieland North America and its North American subsidiaries.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    Procure insurance-related information from Wieland's North American subsidiaries concerning the renewal or contracting of insurance lines (e.g. insurance values of machines and buildings).
  • Support the North American subsidiaries, together with the Wieland Group's local broker, in making insurance claims that are not significant (e.g. car accidents).
  • Manage and analyze insurance policies for clients.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with insurance providers.
  • Support the development and implementation of insurance strategies.
  • Prepare or assist with detailed insurance reports and presentations.
  • Coordinate with the legal team on insurance-related and other matters as needed.

Insurance Specialist/Senior Insurance Specialist Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • Strong knowledge of insurance policies, regulations, and underwriting
  • Certified Insurance Specialist (CIS) accreditation is preferred
  • At least five (5) years of insurance experience in corporate insurance matters, including P&C, D&O, EPL, WC, Cyber, Environmental, Auto, Aviation insurance lines
  • Proficiency in insurance software and MS Office Suite
  • Competency/Qualification Strong interpersonal skills: the ability to work well with people from different disciplines from different disciplines and levels in the organization
  • Superior organizational skills and detail-oriented to ensure accuracy and quality
  • Strong client-facing skills with an ability to build effective strategic relationships
  • Adaptability and flexibility to manage deadline pressure, ambiguity, and change
  • Ability to independently prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
