- Description
- The General Superintendent position requires the person to demonstrate the ability to coordinate site installs from facility development to facility equipment installs and commissioning.
- Ensure adherence to specification and code requirements.
- Overseeing and coordinating all of the activities of a construction site according to project blueprints and schedule plans. Their duties include coordinating subcontractors, performing quality control and safety checks and providing on-site direction when preparing construction sites.
- Effectively assign and monitor tasks given to personnel.
- Monitor productivity and efficiency of operations, ensure ACI's quality standards and procedures are maintained.
- Education
- Preferably high school diploma or equivalent
- Experience & Qualifications
- 10 years' experience in Construction and steel fabrication.
- 5-years' experience as Superintendent or similar position
- Basic knowledge of software programs, such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Ability to write reports and professional correspondence to vendors, government officials, and clients
- Good reading comprehension for technical documents, such as safety regulations, assembly and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Excellent verbal communications skills, especially when addressing customers, clients or official visitors to the worksite
- Keen eye to identify non-compliance with regulations or standards and ability to suggest solutions for deficiencies or problems
- Duties
- Participate in all daily JSA meetings and JSA development for daily tasks.
- Responsible for ensuring Quality Control tasks (dimensional checks, levelness of all material/items installed, welding appearance, heat #'s & welder stencils, etc....) on all pipe, vessel, and packaging jobs are completed and followed by Foreman & shop personnel. Work with Quality Control Manager on all pipe, vessel, and package jobs in shop.
- Monitor daily clock in and clock out time.
- Ensure all personnel assigned to daily task are accounted for on daily time sheets.
- Supervision of all project foremen.
- General Superintendent is to be main point of contact for all updates, clarifications, or other daily project business with the Project Management and Project Coordinator. Project Director is to be kept informed and copied in on all correspondence pertaining to project execution/Project Management.
- Advise Construction Manager of material needs to maintain job continuity based on material requirements.
- Communicate all out-of-scope occurrences/install misfits immediately with the Construction Manager for forward direction. (additional cost capture)
- In the event of a priority or scheduling conflict of project workloads, consult with Construction Manager on situation so a solution can be made by all involved.
- Maintain communication with Construction Manager, Project Coordinator, and QA/QC indicating when project task WILL BE (advanced notification) completed and/or is scheduled for completion in order update the daily percentage report.
- Monitor that project material is not removed and/or returned to designated material storage area without the approval by the Material Expeditor.
- Coordinate with assigned Foreman on equipment needed for assigned task.
- Coordinate and ensure finial completion of all assigned task.
- Monitor daily housekeeping needs/requirements.
- Monitor/address personnel daily and on-time attendance for work.
- Participate in all Daily completion/24hr look ahead meetings as well as daily Safety Meetings.
- Participate in bid work scope reviews and project kick-offs when required.
- Monitor all repetitive and/or substantial personnel quality, accuracy, workmanship, or reliability issues to the Construction Manager and HR Department for follow up and mitigating actions to be taken through progressive discipline.
- Maintain a positive attitude with internal and external customers by providing quality customer service.
