Position Summary

The Manager
of Business Services (Mgr, Business Services) will play a critical role in
supporting the Director of Business Operations with budget development,
strategic financial reporting, and the analysis of capital and equipment
cycling plans. This position involves close collaboration with leadership to
ensure effective financial planning and resource allocation aligned with campus
priorities.

Key
responsibilities include managing most budget entries, overseeing the budgeting
of special projects, developing new programmatic indices, as well as travel initiation. The Mgr, Business
Services will also support compensation inquiries and reporting in partnership
with HED. Additionally, this position will be responsible for verifying formula
funding and driving strategic financial changes that support the campus's
mission and goals as set by the Chancellor, Advisory Board, and Provost.

Located about 30 miles south of Albuquerque in rural Valencia County, the
University of New Mexico-Valencia Campus is a two-year branch campus of the
University of New Mexico which functions as a community college in the region
and is designated a Hispanic Serving Institution. With an emphasis on teaching
excellence, Valencia Campus offers academic transfer programs, career and
technical programs, Adult Basic Education, and Dual Credit High School/College
courses to Valencia and Socorro Counties. The faculty and staff serve a student
body of over 2,00 students per semester.

Conditions of Employment

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

    analyze, interpret, and present complex annual financial reports,
    statements, and/or projections.
  • Experience purchasing for grants
    and multiple departments with different priorities
  • Experience managing a cashiering
    operation including working with student accounts and auxiliary operations
  • Experience working as a part of a
    complex core business operations office at a branch campus including
    financial operations
  • Experience with
    Banner, LoboMart, and Chrome River or similar software/platforms
