JOB PURPOSE:

The Deputy Director of Events will report to and support the Director of Strategic Advancement and Impact in managing all aspects of arranging external (public facing) and internal events, held on or off premises where organizational expertise, input, and relationship building are required. The Deputy Director of Events will provide support in project administration and management and, where appropriate, take on stand-alone projects. The individual will also take responsibility for coordinating events and sets the Marketing and PR strategy to promote external events. In addition, the Deputy Director of Events will carry out other event tasks as required.


Qualifications

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Develops comprehensive event marketing strategies to increase attendance, awareness, and engagement.
  • Collaborates with the Marketing and Communications team to promote events through multi-channel campaigns, including social media, email marketing, and press releases.
  • Serves as a liaison and thought partner with Public Relations partners to coordinate media pitches, coverage and maximize exposure for key events.
  • Analyzes event performance metrics (attendance, engagement, ROI) to develop data-driven strategies for future events.
  • Integrates storytelling into events to strengthen brand messaging and audience connection.
  • Identifies sponsorship opportunities and develops partnerships with external organizations to enhance event success.
  • Creates post-event reports, including marketing impact analysis and key takeaways for leadership.
  • Manages all community event operations (preparing venue, invitations, food, drinks etc.)
  • Participates in meetings, conferences, and social functions to aid in event planning
  • Plans and organizes events and provides oversight for the event budgets
  • Searches for and compares different vendors (catering, decorators, musicians etc.) and negotiates with vendors to achieve the most favorable terms
  • Represent Endeavors in various forums, enhancing organizational visibility and fostering strategic relationships that support community impact goals.
  • Fulfill travel obligations and accommodate evening or weekend work as needed to support organizational initiatives.
  • Operate within a hybrid working model, balancing remote work with in-office presence to maintain flexibility and efficiency.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree required with a preference for Communications, Marketing, or Public Relations degrees.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 10 years of experience working with nonprofits in event management, development/philanthropy, and marketing roles. Proven experience running large-scale events including logistics, concept development, budget oversight, event fundraising, and marketing. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of Development CRM platforms like Salesforce, Oracle, Blackbaud, etc. is a plus.

ATTENDANCE: Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the employer's sole discretion.

LICENSES: Driver's License with clear record.

VEHICLE: Must have daily use of a vehicle without prior notice.

OTHER: Must be available and willing to travel to various locations and with such frequency as the business need dictates. Some travel will be required.
