POSITION SUMMARY An Industrial Electrician Apprentice is tasked with learning the skills and knowledge necessary to become a fully qualified Industrial Electrician. Working under the supervision of a certified electrician, they assist in the maintenance, installation, testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems and equipment. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions. PRIMARY Their duties and responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, including wiring, conduct, fixtures, and other electrical devices
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings.
- Helping to identify and troubleshoot electrical problems with various testing devices.
- Assisting with inspections of electrical systems to ensure they meet code requirements.
- Supporting the testing of electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures to ensure compatibility and safety of the system
- Safely use various tools and equipment used in electrical trade.
- Adhering to all safety standards and regulations
- Maintaining a clean and safe work area
- Documenting work performed and parts used for each job.
SECONDARY
- Must install new electrical equipment as needed.
- Must make the necessary repairs as quickly as possible to minimize inconvenience.
- Must replace items such as circuit breakers, fuses, switches, electrical and electronic components, or wire as needed.
- Maintain communication with Journeyman Electrician and contractor or vendor.
- May work with engineers, engineering technicians, or industrial machinery installation, repair, and maintenance workers.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Electrical Apprentice license in state of practice
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 3-5 years of electrical experience
- Ability to Interpret Electrical Schematics
- Must have the ability to read, write and speak basic English.
- NCCER Electrical certification a plus
- Hazardous area wiring experience a plus.
- PLC (MicroLogix, RSLogix500 and RSLogix5000) and related wiring knowledge a plus
