At Gundersen Health System, we are dedicated to providing exceptional care and ensuring a positive experience for our patients and their families. We are seeking a full time, Patient Relations Specialist to join our team and help us maintain our high standards of patient care and satisfaction.

What's Available?

  • 1.0 FTE

  • Schedule: Typical hours Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm with occasional needs to work outside of standard business hours.

  • Location: Onsite at our Main Campus in La Crosse, WI

Responsibilities Include:

  • Collaborate with leaders, providers and staff to identify and implement improvements in patient care and service delivery.

  • Conduct patient satisfaction surveys and analyze feedback to develop action plans for enhancing the patient experience.

  • Applying system level thinking to your work, see the bigger picture, and help to create new champions for experience everywhere you go.

  • Promote human connection and empathy in all patient interactions, ensuring that every patient feels heard and respected.

  • Provide training and education to staff on the importance of human connection in healthcare and effective communication strategies.

What Will You Need?

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as Communications, Organizational Leadership, Human Services, Healthcare, Business, etc.

  • 3-4 years experience in healthcare, customer service or a related field.

  • Strong comfortability with public speaking - ability to present to both small and large group settings; past experience with facilitating focus groups a plus!

  • Strong multi-tasking ability and interest in working on multiple projects at any given time

  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting

  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.

  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
