General Maintenance Technician

Our location in Elgin, IL is seeking an Electrician. This position is Sunday-Thursday from 8PM- 4:30AM. Pay is based on experience.

Responsibilities:
Production support to keep equipment running.
Cleaning and maintaining the equipment to keep them running at peak performance.
Cleaning and organizing the maintenance shop.
Making sure that stock parts are ordered in a timely fashion to keep down time to a minimum
General ware house projects such as putting up guard rail and rearranging racks
Repairing the floors and walls when needed.
Moving equipment around for production needs.
Running the floor scrubber to clean the floors and cleaning and maintaining the floor scrubber.
Any other duty as assigned by the Director or as needed by the supervisors.
This is a hands on self-starting position .

Basic Qualifications
5 years of basic maintenance experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to work flexible schedules/shifts/areas, including weekends, nights and/or holidays
3 years of experience in PC competency to include: Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of experience working with automated conveyors and controls.
5+ years of experience with electrical and electronic principles, National Electrical Code (NEC), and industrial electronics
5+ years of experience conducting preventative maintenance.
5 + years of experience reading blueprints and schematics.
3+ years of work order management
4+ years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Mechanical or Electrical field
Previous leadership experience
Previous vendor management experience
Experience with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) safety standards accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and Safety standards
Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
Physical Demands
Repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walking.
Lifting parts and tools weighing on average 20 pounds, occasionally weighing up to 49 pounds
Dexterity in eye/hand coordination, feet (foot pedals) manual (picking, pinching, holding, grasping), and wrist motion (repetitive flexion/rotation)
Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temperatures, inside/outside noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfaces.
