The Emotion and Behavior Laboratory at the University of Virginia, led by Dr. Adrienne Wood, has an opening for a social psychologist with expertise in mobile sensing, social network analysis, and/or social interaction. The position will begin late Summer or early Fall of 2025. Postdoctoral Research Associates will also have the opportunity to join the Contagion Science Program, a prestigious strategic research initiative funded by the University of Virginia through its Prominence-to-Preeminence STEM Targeted Initiatives Fund. The program is led by Faculty of UVA's Biocomplexity Institute and explores the application of computing and data sciences at the interfaces of computational modeling and social and population sciences providing opportunities to explore concepts of network and complex systems modeling. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: A Ph.D. in Social Psychology, Social Neuroscience, or closely related discipline with an emphasis on social connection, mobile sensing or experience sampling, social network analysis, and/or social dynamics is required by the start date. A record of high-quality research as demonstrated by publications in top-tier journals and external presentations is required. Prior experience successfully mentoring undergraduate students is also desired. Additional required technical skills: advanced statistical analytic capacities applicable to longitudinal data, multivariate analysis, and computational modeling/agent-based modeling.
