Description
Pavion and our family of companies are seeking a talented and motivated Design Engineer to join our security business unit. Primary Responsibilities:
- Works with the Sales department and Estimators, to construct a bill of materials (BOM) with compatible parts and equipment
- Supports Project Managers with part number/product issues
- Supports the Service department on replacement part identification
- Supports the Application Engineering department on complex jobs
- Assists with design, issues, and/or questions
- Partners with the Sales and Operations departments
- Helps to identify and research the correct part number and components
- Assists in outlining specifications for servers, workstations, and networks system design
- Travels for work related purposes as needed
- Walks jobs to determine correct parts and system design
- Provide estimating and design support for complex projects, design build projects and other work as directed by the Business
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum 4 years' experience with security design and estimation for Access Control, CCTV, Intrusion/Burglary Alarm systems
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher, Outlook, and Internet Explorer), Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project, Access control software, Video Management system software, and BlueBeam software
- Access Control, Video System and Intrusion system certifications
- Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
