Organizational Unit Overview |
The Office of Undergraduate Admissions is the primary point of contact for a traditional first year student, transfer, or non-traditional adult student seeking admission to East Carolina University. The office is responsible for identifying and recruiting potential applicants with outstanding academic ability and potential and assisting in the application process to completion. |
Job Duties |
Percentage of Total Time: 30%
To provide various levels of support to the transfer admissions team and prospective students. Assist with answering prospective student inquiries through phone, email, and text. Will work with many adult student populations including transfer, post-baccalaureate, readmit, second degree, visiting, and more. Assist with targeted communication to students in various stages of the admissions process. Will assist with general office operations, customer service, managing the Transfer Portal, event coordination, and other duties as assigned. Will manage and provide support for student workers.
Percentage of Total Time: 30%
Manage student data and information systems. Must be familiar with managing multiple databases. Will need an understanding of research and data collection. Will be responsible for managing the new transfer portal. As a part of managing the transfer portal, will need a basic understanding of credit evaluation and will provide pre-admission advising. Will need to have a thorough knowledge of the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement (
CAA) and other transfer related agreements. Will review data to ensure its accuracy. Will adhere to policies and laws regarding the handling of confidential records.
Percentage of Total Time: 30%
Provide outstanding customer service to guests who call and/or email the transfer team. Aspects of advising will be extensive and will require good problem-solving skills to better assist students. Provide timely and accurate information or direct caller to the appropriate
ECU office. Use
CRM system to look up application status to verify receipt of transcripts and other relevant information. Send targeted communications to prospective students. Help manage the transfer email inbox as well as download transcripts and transfer them to the Z-Drive. Perform other office duties as assigned.
Percentage of Total Time:10%
Assist with coordinating on-campus and online events. Help with coordination of special projects. Serve as back up for off-campus recruitment events and presentations when no counselor is available.

Minimum Education/Experience |
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. |
