Key Responsibilities:

The Police Services Officer position is a civilian position within the Police Department and performs or assists with the following tasks.

Patrol Position



  • Processing and transporting detainees
  • Maintaining safety and security of detainees and the facility
  • Fingerprinting
  • Responding to and investigating criminal and civil incidents
  • Writing reports
  • Providing customer service
  • Completing other law enforcement duties as assigned


Investigations Position



  • Manage a caseload of cases submitted to MCAO
  • Conducting follow-up on cases
  • Writing reports
  • Managing the Peoria Sex Offender Registry Program
  • Processing and transporting detainees
  • Maintaining safety and security of detainees and the facility
  • Fingerprinting
  • Providing customer service
  • Completing other law enforcement duties as assigned

  • Education: High school diploma
  • Experience: 9-12 months experience. Moderate previous experience required in the same or similar previous positions
  • Physical Demands: Exerting 20-50 lbs., occasionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently, or up to 10 lbs. constantly.
