Purpose of Position
The College of Health and Human Services Professions is seeking applications for one full-time, 12-month, non-tenure-track renewable faculty position as the MSN NED/ NEL Concentration Coordinator for the MSN Program in the School of Nursing. Primary Responsibilities
The School of Nursing invites applications for one full-time, 12-month, non-tenure track renewable faculty position for the position of MSN NED and NEL Concentration Coordinator for the MSN Program in the School of Nursing. This position is remote.

The MSN program is delivered online. The MSN NED and NEL Concentration Coordinator is responsible for the recruitment, orientation, oversight, and evaluation of faculty for the MSN program, which includes the following tracks: Nurse Educator and Nurse Executive Leadership.

The position may include teaching responsibilities. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Collaborates with the Associate Director of Graduate Nursing Studies to identify faculty needs for both NED and NEL concentrations.
  • Helps interview perspective faculty to teach in the NED and NEL concentration courses.
  • Ensures that faculty have adequate preparation and current expertise for the clinical and didactic faculty role.
  • Ensures that clinical faculty collaborate with clinical preceptors to support role development of the student at the practicum site.
  • Collaborates with other Concentration Coordinators to develop and provide orientation to new clinical faculty.
  • Collaborates with the course coordinators to maintain Canvas courses.
  • Ensures completion of preceptor and clinical site evaluations.
  • Provides input into the evaluation of NED/ NEL faculty.
  • Promotes faculty professional development.
  • Provides regular updates to nursing leadership, including the Associate Director of Graduate Studies-School of Nursing and MSN Program Director, about student experiences.
  • Updates course offerings within the concentration area to align with industry standards and program goals.
  • Identifies and addresses potential academic challenges faced by students in their concentration.
  • Manages faculty scheduling for NED/NEL concentration courses.
  • Builds relationships with industry professionals and potential employers.
  • Manages and approves clinical preceptors.
  • Teaches as needed to meet program needs.

Qualifications
MSN with Nurse Educator and Nurse Executive Leadership experience and/or certifications. A doctoral degree in Nursing or a related field is required.
Minimum of 2 years of related clinical practice experience.

  • Previous academic teaching experience in the online format preferred
  • Must possess a valid, unencumbered registered nursing license in their state of residence.
