Position Description: |
The Division of General Internal Medicine within the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa is adding BC/BE Internists to an expanding division composed of diverse academic faculty with broad clinical and research interests. The Division is seeking faculty members for appointment on the clinical track at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. Responsibilities include:
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions in adult patients.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including physical exams and medical history reviews.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans and coordinate care with specialists as needed.
- Provide preventive care, including health screenings, vaccinations, and lifestyle counseling.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
- Demonstrate leadership in medical education in the ambulatory setting with both medical students and residents.
- Engage in quality improvement projects promoting population health and improved delivery of health care.
Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any misconduct history or pending research misconduct investigation including but not limited to sexual misconduct in prior employment and provide a related releasee and will be subject to a criminal background and credential check.

Education Requirement: |
- Applicants must have a medical degree (or equivalent).
|
Required Qualifications: |
- Successful completion of an accredited residency program in internal medicine.
- The selected candidate must be eligible for or already possess an active Iowa medical license.

Certifications: |
- Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible in Internal Medicine (or equivalent international certification). Those trained outside the U.S. with comparable qualifications may also be considered.
