Introduction

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is seeking a professional, talented and motivated individual for the full-time Systems Analyst position located in the Administrative and Technical Services Division at the Sheriff's Office Headquarters.

Job Summary

Under the general direction of the designated supervisor, configures, supports, and maintains enterprise applications managed by the County's Information Technology (IT) Department. This position configures applications used by law enforcement personnel; troubleshoots issues; documents business processes and system lifecycle activities; gathers requirements; designs solution architecture; creates application enhancements and extensions; tests; assures quality; documents technical, operations, and maintenance activities; and communicates with business customers regarding the status of the system.

Essential Job Functions
* Delivers, enhances, and maintains software of moderate complexity associated with underlying technologies such as client-server, service oriented, database, web-based or cloud-based environments.
* Performs the installation, maintenance, and customization of vendor-built application software / COTS (Commercial off-the shelf software) and database management systems used by IT and its business customers.
* Provides professional, technical advice and counsel on project, technology, and service delivery issues.
* Supports the application/database operational environment activities.
* Documents process and associated business requirements to fix issues or enhance functionality.
* Documents all policies and procedures related to use of enterprise systems.
* Writes/reviews program code, scripts, or objects to create, revise, or update computer programs.
* Performs application/database software patching, version upgrades, and installation of new modules.
* Monitors the health of applications/databases and ensures that they are performing according to specification.
* Tests application/database functionality after a patch, system upgrade, or a new functionality is applied.
* Develops application/database support documentation.
* Analyzes application/database code to determine root cause for incidents.
* Gathers business requirements from the customer and translating to technical requirements.
* Develops custom reports using Industry standard Business Intelligence tools

Hiring salary commensurate with experience.

This position is not eligible for telework.


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; two (2) years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Prefer certifications such as Information Technology Infrastructure Library Foundation certification (ITIL), Project Management Professional certification (PMP), or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM). Prefer experience in: Innotas/Planview software; Leankit tools; other project management software; Records Management and Personnel Management software; basic SQL queries; SQL Server Reporting Services and Microsoft Power BI; SharePoint; Teams; and ServiceNow software.


Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

Selection process includes review of the Applicant Screening Questionnaire and County employment application, in-person interview(s), and an intensive background investigation to include fingerprinting, credit check, driving record, and polygraph examination.

The Sheriff's Office provides service to the community 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. This position will work 37.50 hours per week and may be required to work occasional nights and weekends.
