The University of New Mexico has established
branch colleges to serve the citizens of New Mexico and to provide the highest
quality of education for students pursuing post-secondary education at
different locations throughout the state. Branch colleges respond specifically
to the unique needs and multicultural backgrounds of their respective communities
by offering community education programs, career and technical education
including certificate and associate degree programs, and transfer programs that
prepare students for upper division entry into colleges and universities.


The UNM Gallup Native
American Student Success Center is seeking an experienced and dedicated
full-time Administrative Assistant 2. This position requires the employee to
perform a variety of administrative and staff support duties that involve a
range of skills and knowledge of organizational policies and procedures. The
Administrative Assistant is responsible for assisting and directing visitors,
resolving administrative problems and inquiries. The Administrative Assistant
also composes, edits, and proofreads correspondence and reports, with the
ability to professionally prepare a range of administrative documents. Performs
miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Conditions of Employment
  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
  • All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US-UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.


Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

    successful customer service, including telephone and email etiquette
