JOB SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for maintaining, supporting, and optimizing the Ellucian Banner SaaS environment to ensure seamless operation of critical enterprise systems. This role supports the technical needs of the college, including system configuration, troubleshooting, and end-user support. Collaborates closely with academic and administrative departments to align technology solutions with institutional goals. Provides a comprehensive framework for hiring and managing an ERP system support role in a higher education context.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administer, configure, and monitor the Ellucian Banner SaaS ERP system, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Banner SaaS, integration tools, and associated third-party applications.
  • Provide technical expertise for Banner modules, including Student, Financial Aid, Finance, and Human Resources.
  • Maintain system security, including user access controls and data integrity measures.
  • Support integrations between Banner SaaS and other enterprise systems such as CRM, LMS, and reporting tools.
  • Manage API connections and middleware to enable seamless data flow across systems.
  • Work with vendors and IT staff to implement updates, patches, and enhancements.
  • Assist staff and faculty in troubleshooting Banner-related issues and provide technical support as needed.
  • Develop documentation and deliver training to end-users to improve system utilization and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and customize solutions accordingly.
  • Participate in ERP-related projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and implementations.
  • Partner with departments to ensure system configurations align with operational needs and compliance requirements.
  • Support data reporting and analytics for institutional decision-making processes.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations, including FERPA and other applicable policies.
  • Follow best practices for change management, testing, and system documentation.
  • Completes all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field;
  • Or five (5) years of work experience in a systems-related field. Experience with Ellucian Banner preferred or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
  • Relevant certifications or experience in Ellucian Banner or related IT fields a plus.
  • Experience in IT system support, databases and integrations preferably within higher education.
  • Preference for experience with Ellucian Banner SaaS or similar ERP systems in a higher education environment
  • Understanding of ERP system workflows, particularly in higher education environments.
  • Preferred proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and scripting for data queries and customizations.
  • Familiarity with integration tools (e.g., Ethos, API management).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of data security standards and compliance requirements in higher education.
  • Strong analytical skills for problem-solving and optimizing system performance.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position classifies the physical exertion requirements as sedentary work involving lifting no more than 10 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying articles like docket files, ledgers, and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required occasionally, and other sedentary criteria are met.
