Working TitleAdobe Creative Commons Assistants Pay$16.00 Hourly CampusMain - Albuquerque, NM DepartmentCULLS (107A) Employment TypeStudent Employment Student TypeStudent Employment Status Background Check RequiredNo For Best Consideration Date12/24/2024 Position Summary The University of New Mexico's Adobe Creative Commons, a partnership between UNM IT, University Libraries, and Adobe Education, seeks self-motivated and highly-engaged student employees interested in a digital literacy-oriented customer service work environment. Adobe Creative Commons Assistants are the first point of contact for most patrons at the ACC, and take care of most of the one-on-one trainings and lending processes for the ACC. The ACC is the service point in the library that provides tech lending and learning for digital media production through equipment and software training, including helping to maintain and monitor the ACC areas. Candidates must have a basic understanding of Adobe Creative Cloud software and digital media hardware like cameras, as well as Mac OS, Windows, and mobile environments. Applicants should be able to take initiative to solve many of the technical and operational problems that will come up on a day-to-day basis, working both independently and in a close team. Applicants should expect to be assigned additional projects under supervision to maintain, update, and improve the space, such as workflow updates, inventory, and reorganization. Under supervision, Adobe Creative Commons Assistants work with ACC staff and students in a close team environment. On a more limited and sometimes cross-functional basis, they also work with the Brain Bar (which provides general tech support) and other University Libraries staff and students. Duties include:
Successful applicants will have the opportunity for progressively independent work and increased responsibility. Benefits of this position include: opportunity to develop tutoring skills in digital media production; receiving guidance and mentoring from library staff; developing professional skills such as interpersonal communication, critical thinking, detail-orientation, and problem-solving; and developing and applying technical skills on digital media production equipment and Adobe Creative Cloud software. All ACC student employees may be asked to work evenings, nights, and/or weekends. All UL&LS student employees are employed on a term basis for the current / impending school year. Minimum Qualifications Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM, Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.
