Position SummaryUNM Art Education is seeking to hire a graduate student for
a National Endowment for the Humanities K-12th grade educator 2025
summer institute: Reimagining the US/Mexico Border through Multimodal
Storytelling. The project collaborates with UNM Latin American & Iberian
Institute and UNM ECHO for Education. In this 2025 NEH Summer Institute, K-12th
grade educators representing diverse contexts will use the power of
storytelling to investigate the U.S.-Mexico border by interweaving
multimodalities - visual, sound, and movement and with children's literature. Link

The hours are flexible, but the student must be available for ongoing planning
meetings throughout the Spring 2025 semester. Must be capable of working
independently on multiple and diverse tasks.

The job duties include the following:

-Designing Promotional Flyers
-Organizing and Attending Planning Meetings with Artists and
Authors
-Maintaining institute website
-Maintaining participant application materials
-Ordering and organizing institute materials
-Organizing catering services
-Communicating and organizing housing and other travel needs
for participants
-Assisting in-person workshop at Albuquerque Museum,
February 22, 2025
-Other duties as applicable to the project

  • Adobe Creative Suite/Microsoft 365 Experience preferred
  • Design Experience a plus
