Job Description

Preferred / Desirable Qualifications:



  • CPR/First Aid certified within one year of hire.
  • Experience in a municipal or government setting.
  • One year of previous supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Experience driving a 15-passenger van.

The purpose of this position is plan, organize, and coordinate recreation programs, classes and events to promote quality of life for those 50+. Develops and coordinates a variety of programs, classes, trips and events for active adults; recruits, trains, and supervises staff; markets and promotes programs, classes and events; provides quality customer services; disseminates information regarding programs to the public; assists with various components of the Community Center; participates on committees; and completes position-related assignments.

The ideal candidate for this position will have: / Key Responsibilities:



  • Experience creating and managing citywide programs, classes and events for active senior adults.
  • Markets and promotes citywide programs, classes, and events utilizing software to maintain class information; updates information on the website and social media outlets;
  • Assist in planning annual budget. Forecasts revenues and expenses for programs; authorizes payments; monitors expenditures; recommends adjustments; evaluates program performance; develops and implements procedures for improved efficiencies; seeks grant opportunities; prepares program and statistical reports.


The salary range for this position is: $65,117 to 80,746.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in any field or equivalent years of experience.

Experience: Minimum of three years of related experience. Requires a working knowledge of specialized practices, equipment, and procedures.

License/Certification/Special Requirements:



  • Valid AZ driver's license upon hire.
  • Will need to be able to drive 15 passenger vans.
  • Obtain and maintain a valid class 1 fingerprint clearance card within 10 days of hire.
  • CPR/First Aid Certified within 1 year of hire.
