Practice Details

Surgical Specialists of Atlanta is a full-service general surgery practice specializing in minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic techniques to treat a variety of medical conditions. Our passionate, board-certified, and fellowship-trained surgeons-Dr. Mariam Ali-Mucheru, Dr. Laurel Barnes, Dr. Iqbal Garcha, Dr. Michael Genz, Dr. J. Patrick Luke, Dr. Julie F. McGill, Dr. Janine Pettiford, Dr. Mark Wilkiemeyer, and Dr. Thomas Wood-bring years of experience serving the greater Atlanta area and offer the latest surgical techniques and procedures for treating diseases across the body.

In this role, you would work closely with our breast cancer survivorship program. The Physician Assistant will assist with post-treatment surveillance, monitor for recurrence, and provide supportive care, including lifestyle guidance and emotional support. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of breast cancer survivors while working alongside a dedicated, multidisciplinary team.

Under general supervision, and with medical consultation and direction, performs physical, psycho-social assessment; establishes medical diagnosis; orders and evaluate diagnostic tests; manages follow up care; does other related work as required. Responsibilities include performing physical examinations, developing treatment plans, ordering and interpreting lab tests and results, along with providing preventative healthcare and counseling.

REQUIRED

  • A college degree as a Physician's Assistant from a recognized university, affiliated with a medical school
  • Please refer to the Medical Staff Guidelines for certifications and credentialing applicable to this position.

PREFERRED

  • Two to five years of experience with a medical practice setting where diagnosis, treatment and patient education were the main focus of the role
