As a Category Manager for Mechanical Systems, you will be the responsible for developing and executing commodity strategies to enable growth, increase margin, reduce costs, and mitigate supply risks.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Creating, communicating, and monitoring Category plan to business segments adherence to supplier-selection guide.
  • Creating Sourcing pipeline and Supplier Performance Management (SPM) targets.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders Product Line, Manufacturing and Engineering on category strategies.
  • Analyzing historical category spend and key metrics (contract coverage, On-Time-
  • Delivery, payment terms, quality, capacity, and price). Understand Product Lines' stakeholders, priorities, and future demand.
  • Creating and maintaining supplier-selection guide for Sourcing & Procurement
  • Analyzing supply markets and benchmark competition.
  • Consolidating Product Lines' forecasts & estimate spend for category and key suppliers.
  • Defining Critical supplier for HQ Supplier Risk review and Business Continuity Plan (BCP)
  • Assessing Category Risks (Supply, Finance, Quality, Compliance, Sustainability, Cybersecurity, Geopolitical, etc.)
  • Ensuring accurate Supplier Segmentation (Regional / Global), Categorization (C&M, MFD, OFTS, IND, LOG), and positioning (Grow, Maintain, Phase out)
  • Ensuring accurate part number categorization (as per taxonomy), supplier categorization, and single/sole source mapping.

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have a bachelor's degree in supply chain, Finance, Engineering or equivalent.
  • Have 8+ years of experience in Procurement, category management or related field. Have previous experience working in Electrical, Electronics and Controls
  • Be accomplished in category management and has commercial category expertise.
  • Have demonstrated experience with negotiation of contract and commercial terms and conditions and able to coach others.
  • Have dynamic global leadership & influence skills that inspire trust, collaboration, and operational excellence.
  • Have the ability to work in a highly metric-driven environment and deliver against challenging performance targets.
  • Be a key part of building a world-class Procurement function.
  • Ability to lead through influence, recommend sourcing strategies and deliver business results.
  • Have excellent interpersonal, motivational and leadership skills.
