Job Purpose

Development of quality inspection processes and manpower requirements based off current production and future new models. Must be able to determine where inspection items best fit into the process and be able to train associates based off the results. Leading New Model Project for Department as PIC and identify impact of New Model change points to department business.

Key Accountabilities



  • Determine the sequence of steps or processes required to confirm quality products that meet the standards of quality and cost.
  • Develop department processes and operation standards.
  • Works with production, new model departments & engineering departments to ensure balanced process occurs.
  • Support daily on-line trouble shooting for safety, quality, and delivery problems to improve with next new model project.
  • Oversee Training of associates on new or modified process changes.
  • Leading/Supporting New Model Quality Meetings (WAR, Cost, E-2 etc,)
  • Develop process manpower based off MOST. Develop training plan for the processes. Support changes to department characteristics (I.e., innovation, ramp-up/ramp-down)



Qualifications, Experience and Skills



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, industrial) or equivalent work experience.
  • One term as a co-op for Honda or in a similar manufacturing environment.
  • Problem analysis and problem solving (multi departmental issues / design); Sound decision making; Creating and facilitating a presentation; Effective written and oral technical communication.



Workstyle



  • Varied work environment (office, workshop).
  • Average of 1 to 5 hours overtime per week.
  • Periodic early morning/late evening meetings.
  • Flexibility in work hours and daily job functions.
  • Flexibility in shift as build events dictate
